The stewartary museum was an interesting free museum. It contains a varied collection of history items from fossils to taxidermy. Myself and my wife enjoyed it. I would give an hour for it. No toilets and only the down stairs section would be wheel chair available.

Excellent museum about the local history of Kirkcudbright and surrounding areas. The main exhibition displays items that showcases life in the area throughout recent history. The upper gallery has a large collection of animal taxidermy. Free admissions and no car park but plenty of on-street parking nearby.

A fantastic little museum in the middle of the lovely town of Kirkcudbright. Packed with local artifacts from thousands of years ago to fairly recent times. Such a wide range of items to interest everyone and good for family's. As a local myself I learned about items and events I never knew about but would say that this museum would be fun for people from afar. Donations are kindly welcomed and a visit here is well worth that!

Superb little museum, with many artefacts worthy of national collections, especially prehistoric, Roman and early medieval. All beautifully preserved in a building that is a treasure in itself. Great credit to the volunteers and others who have reopened the museum
